ZANU PF IS PROUD OF KILLING THE ECONOMY

0

Once upon a time, Zimbabwe was one of the strongest economies in sub-Saharan Africa. We were number two, just behind South Africa. We had working industries, busy factories, good hospitals, strong banks, and real jobs. Today, ZANU PF is celebrating that we are now number five. Yes, they are proud of that. They call it progress. But it is not progress. It is failure.

According to the IMF, Zimbabwe’s economy is now worth around US$66 billion. That puts us below South Africa, Angola, Tanzania, and the DRC. But ZANU PF acts like this is a big win. They forget that Zimbabwe used to be above most of these countries. In the 1980s and 1990s, we had a working system. Today we only have slogans and lies.

What is there to celebrate? People are suffering. Nurses are leaving the country. Doctors are striking. Teachers are poor. Youths are jobless. Vendors are running from police every day. And ZANU PF says the economy is growing? Growing for who?

It is not growing for the people in Mbare. It is not growing for the people in Mutare. It is not growing for the young people who cross crocodile-infested rivers to go to South Africa. This is fake growth. It is growth on paper, not in real life.

ZANU PF destroyed our economy with corruption, violence, and bad leadership. They looted the farms. They chased away investors. They stole from the people. They lied about land reform, about empowerment, about everything. And now they want to be praised for moving from number two to number five?

This is what failure looks like when it wears a suit and smiles for the camera. They talk about GDP while the people eat from bins. They talk about progress while children learn under trees. They talk about jobs while ministers buy new cars every year.

ZANU PF has nothing to show the world, so they celebrate anything. Even failure. Even going backwards. They use statistics to fool the people. But the people are not fools. We live the pain. We know the truth.

If Zimbabwe was a company, ZANU PF would have been fired a long time ago. You cannot destroy something, then ask for a medal because you made it slightly less broken. That is what they are doing now. And it is shameful.

We must not clap for these lies. We must not allow them to keep fooling the people. We must remind them that we remember what Zimbabwe used to be. We must ask them what happened. Who killed the industry? Who caused the blackouts? Who turned nurses into beggars? The answer is one: ZANU PF.

This celebration of failure must stop. It is an insult to every Zimbabwean who suffers every day. It is an insult to every child without school books, every grandmother without medicine, every father without work.

ZANU PF has no plan. That’s why they dance over small things. They fear real change. They fear accountability. That’s why they use propaganda to control the people.

But Zimbabweans are waking up. We are tired of being lied to. We are tired of celebrating hunger, poverty, and tears. The country is not okay. And until ZANU PF is out, it will never be okay.

We do not want to be number five. We want to be free.
