CHIVAYO GETS OVER US$400 MILLION HEALTH DEAL WHILE ZIMBABWEANS SUFFER
Wicknell Chivayo is back again. This time, he is walking away with a massive health deal worth more than US$400 million. The deal is to supply cancer treatment equipment. The contract was signed with the Office of the President and Cabinet. Chivayo is known to be very close to President Emmerson Mnangagwa. This deal shows how deep he is now inside the government system.
Chivayo already had many big contracts in Zimbabwe. He has been given tenders in energy, defence, elections, internet, construction, and transport. Now, he is getting rich from the health sector too. Zimbabwe is in deep pain. Hospitals are broken. Medicines are not available. Nurses are underpaid. People are dying from simple diseases. Yet the government still chooses to give one man this kind of money.
The cancer deal is very clear on how the money will be paid. The total contract is worth over US$400 million for four years. Every year, Chivayo will receive US$109 million. In March 2025, he will get US$52.5 million upfront. This is just an advance payment. The rest will be paid in monthly installments of US$9.1 million. Every month, he will be paid this amount until March 2026. The same payment cycle will repeat for three more years.

- February 28, 2026: US$9.1 million
- March 30, 2026: US$9.1 million
The contract says the same will happen every year for four years. By the end of the contract, Chivayo will have received over US$437 million. All payments will be made directly into his bank account in US dollars.
The big question is: who approved this deal? Why is one man allowed to get so much money from every sector? Zimbabweans are watching this happen while they live in poverty. There are no working cancer machines in most public hospitals. People with cancer have to wait for months to get help. Some die waiting.
This deal shows that the government is not serious about fixing the health system. They only care about feeding their friends. Chivayo has already been given millions of dollars before, like in the Gwanda solar project, where nothing was done. Now he is trusted again with more public money.
People are tired. They want answers. They want to know why Wicknell Chivayo is always smiling while the rest of the country is suffering. Why is one person allowed to eat from every national cake?
This deal should worry every Zimbabwean. It is not just about the money. It is about who controls the country’s future. The cancer deal is another sign that Zimbabwe is not run for the people, but for a few friends of those in power.
