ZANU PF HAS TAKEN ZIMBABWE BACK TO THE STONE AGE

Zimbabwe’s health system is broken. This is something everyone knows. But now, things are even worse. The country has gone backwards, like in the Stone Age. The government has failed.
A picture is going around on social media. It shows a patient at a Zimbabwean hospital. The patient’s leg is covered with pieces of a cardboard box and tape instead of a proper plaster. This picture tells the full story of Zimbabwe’s health crisis. Hospitals do not have the right equipment. Medicines are missing. Patients suffer because the system has collapsed.
Zimbabwe’s health system has been broken for years. The government has failed to fix it. Doctors and nurses leave the country for better jobs. Hospitals do not have enough staff. Those who stay behind do not have the tools to do their jobs. Some hospitals do not even have painkillers or bandages.
This is not a new problem. Zimbabwe has struggled with its health system for many years. In 2008, a cholera outbreak killed 4,288 people. Between 2023 and 2024, another cholera outbreak killed 700 people. This shows how bad things have become. The country is failing to stop diseases that should be easy to control.
Zimbabwe does not spend enough money on health. The government does not invest in hospitals, doctors, and medicine. Instead, Zimbabwe depends on other countries for help. The United Kingdom, Ireland, and Sweden give money through the Health Development Fund. This fund is managed by Unicef and focuses on helping mothers and children. Other organisations, like the Global Fund, also give money. These donations pay for HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other health programs.
Donor funding is a big part of Zimbabwe’s health budget. About 25% of the money that keeps hospitals running comes from donors. But this is not enough. The health system needs more. The problem is that Zimbabwe does not take care of its own people. It relies too much on outside help.
Things may soon get even worse. The United States has announced cuts in health funding. This means less money for HIV/AIDS programs. Many Zimbabweans depend on these programs. If the funding stops, their lives will be in danger.
In rural areas, the situation is even worse. Some people must travel long distances just to see a doctor. Some clinics do not have electricity or clean water. This means people in villages do not get the care they need.
Zimbabwe has many health problems. There are infectious diseases like HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria. There are also non-communicable diseases like high blood pressure and diabetes. But without doctors, medicine, and equipment, patients cannot get treatment.
Hospitals in Zimbabwe have now become places where people go to die. Instead of saving lives, they are failing the people. This is because of bad leadership. The government has ignored the health sector for too long.
People are dying, and things are getting worse. Zimbabweans deserve better. They deserve hospitals that work, doctors who are paid well, and medicine when they are sick. Right now, they have none of these things. The country has gone backwards. It is like Zimbabwe is living in the Stone Age again.
